Shark Cupcakes – The Rose Desk


In search of scrumptious, eye-catching Shark Cupcakes? You’ve come to the fitting place! I served these lovable cupcakes at my Jaws-inspired shark pool occasion and so they have been an absolute hit.

I used my swirled frosting methodology for the Ocean Wave Frosting. You may select any three shades of blue that you just like. I used royal blue, teal, and delphinium blue Wilton icing and the impact was precisely what I wished.

Might these Shark Cupcakes be any cuter!? They really introduced me immeasurable pleasure. I don’t use quite a lot of cupcake toppers however these shark fin cupcake toppers from Amazon have been irresistible.

Shark Cupcakes

24 cupcakes
2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup darkish cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup 1% milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup boiling water 
Ocean Wave Frosting, recipe follows

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two muffin cup pans with cupcake liners and spray every with non-stick spray.
  2. Mix sugar, flour, darkish cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt in giant mixing bowl. Add eggs separately and blend till integrated. Add milk, oil and vanilla and beat on medium velocity of mixer about two minutes. Stir within the boiling water. Fill cupcake liners about 2/3 full.
  3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or till picket decide inserted in middle comes out clear. Cool 10 minutes; take away from pans to wire racks. Cool utterly. 
  4. Frost cupcakes in line with directions beneath. Garnish with shark fin cupcake toppers.

Ocean Wave Frosting

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
5 cups powdered sugar, sifted
2 tsp vanilla
2-3 Tbsp milk

Three shades of blue meals coloring (I used royal blue, teal, and delphinium blue)

  1. Beat butter with electrical mixer till good and fluffy. Beat in two cups of powdered sugar till integrated, then add vanilla extract.
  2. Beat in two extra cups of powdered sugar till mixed. Add a tablespoon of milk and last cup of powdered sugar. Beat in one other tablespoon of milk. Add extra powdered sugar or milk as wanted to succeed in your required consistency. 
  3. Divide frosting into thirds. Tint every third your required shade of blue.
  4. Set a bit of cling wrap on the counter and unfold the frosting facet by facet on the cling wrap in rows as proven within the images. Roll up like a tube and put the entire tube inside a big pastry bag fitted with a star tip. Frost as you usually would cupcakes and voila – ocean wave frosting!
